Weekend Wrap Up - Thrifting Adventures

Creepy-but-awesome porcelain doll busts.

Another weekend, another thrifting adventure! We live in such a "boring" area that we tend to write off our surroundings, but we really need to stop doing that; this weekend we drove about 25 minutes to a town just south of us and found some amazing thrifting spots. The best part? They were all in walking distance of each other--on the same street, in fact.

An awesome radio we found! The color is so great.

More old books! I just can't resist them.

We ended up going with some friends, which isn't something that we normally do. When we thrift, we consider it work (albeit really fun, awesome work), so we tend to just stick to the two of us so that we can really focus and get good stuff. But it was nice to be able to both "work" and spend time with friends who we haven't seen in a while, and nice to have some additional input on the things we ended up buying.

A darling little tea set.

Adorable stone-carved kittens. We had reached our budget limit by the time we stumbled across these, but next time we are snatching them up!

A glamorous rack of fur coats (hopefully faux fur).

We ended up picking up a total of 7 things, I believe, and I am super happy with our finds! They should be up on the shop within a week. I know I say it all the time, but if you've never really explored the thrifting spots around you, do it! It really is such a fun way to spend a day, and it's almost guaranteed to be cheaper than shopping at a mall or, the ultimate money-sucker, Target*. Did any of you go thrifting this weekend? Do you prefer to go alone or with others? Let us know!

*That's not to say I don't absolutely love Target, even though it  does rob me every time I shop there.
